This traditional Victorian London terraced house was in need of a total renovation.
We stripped the large majority of the ground and first floor walls back to bare brickwork and newly plastered and decorated. Farrow and Ball paints were selected for each room to create a calm flow of colour from one room to the next.
Lighting was kept traditional and understated, with painted chandeliers and linen shades.
A shower room was created on the ground floor, enabling the dining room, next door, to become a bedroom off this bathroom, for future use.
Sofas and cherished family heirloom furniture were carefully re-upholstered and braided and bespoke cushions made – to complement a focal existing wall hanging; highlighting the rich dark Burgundy tones and calm camel and neutrals for the fabric selections.
In contrast, the master bedroom was decorated in a bright neutral tone, adding a rich ocean blue velvet for the restored and upholstered furniture and co-ordinating new printed linen full length curtains in the same colour ways to complement.
A simple contrast edged wool carpet runner was fitted to the central stairway and Amtico herringbone flooring in the kitchen.
