This Grade II listed village house required a complete restoration by our team. We initially worked with the local authorities, listings, English Heritage, architects and surveyors to ensure the entire project was planned and designed in an efficient, timed and cost effective manner. By renovating each room completely, our team were able to add all the modern conveniences a family would expect – under floor heating, CAT6 cabling WIFI in every room, LED hidden simple lighting – but ensuring that the historic foundations of this property was sympathetically respected. The kitchen included a new Total Control Aga with newly tiled surround, a new hand finished kitchen granite topped island to complement the existing kitchen units and elegant new drop glass pendant lights at the centre of the room. The living rooms and dining room incorporated elegant wall coverings, Chesney’s of London log burners, wonderful wide distressed oak floors – all rooms featuring Forbes & Lomax ‘invisible’ light switches. The upper floors featured Roger Oates runners up the staircases with thick pure wool carpets, a bespoke crafted and fitted study, dressing room and beautiful Fired Earth tiled and fitted bathrooms.
