The client of this Victorian terraced apartment commissioned me to create an elegant and inviting, yet comfortable style to the couple’s main drawing room. The London ‘pied a terre’ needed to function as a weekday ‘stop over’ for the client and twin with the occasional stay by their children, when visiting London.
I worked with the existing larger pieces of furniture and kept the neutral tones present but injected some warmth and interest, through muted patterned fabrics and warm yet elegant velvets.
A central rug was commissioned to bring some softness to the existing wooden floors and soft mood lighting created by a floor standing black and gilt lamp.
By adding these simple but important pieces into the room, the central seating area became the focal point when entering the room and brought together the most important room in the apartment for the couple to relax or entertain whilst in London with their friends or visiting children.
